Agile Developer IV
Reflexive Concepts is seeking a skilled Agile Developer IV to join our team!
The Work:
Serve as a Software Architect who owns the design, delivery, and evolution of our AWS infrastructure and associated application services. The ideal candidate blends deep AWS expertise (Lambda, OpenSearch, DynamoDB, SQS, CloudWatch, etc.) with hands-on Java and Python development skills, and can mentor a small team of junior engineers while driving architectural best practices across the program.
The Work:
Serve as a Software Architect who owns the design, delivery, and evolution of our AWS infrastructure and associated application services. The ideal candidate blends deep AWS expertise (Lambda, OpenSearch, DynamoDB, SQS, CloudWatch, etc.) with hands-on Java and Python development skills, and can mentor a small team of junior engineers while driving architectural best practices across the program.
- Design & Blueprint – Create end-to-end, scalable, secure, and cost-optimized architectures for event-driven services, data pipelines, and search solutions on AWS
- Hands-On Development – Write production-grade Java (Spring Boot) and Python (Lambdas) services that run as AWS Lambda functions or containerized workloads (Kubernetes)
- Infrastructure as Code – Define and maintain IaC, ensuring reproducibility and version control of the entire stack
- Data & Messaging Layer – Architect and implement solutions leveraging DynamoDB, OpenSearch, SQS, and SNS for high-throughput, low-latency data access and streaming
- Observability & Reliability – Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting via CloudWatch and custom dashboards
- CI/CD & DevSecOps – Work with GitLab pipelines, static code analysis, and blue-green/canary deployments
- Technical Leadership – Mentor 2–4 junior developers, conduct code reviews, run architecture deep dives, and champion best-practice adoption (clean code, design patterns)
- Collaboration – Communicate technical details, solutions, and roadblocks to leadership and business stakeholders
- Documentation – Produce clear, up-to-date architectural diagrams, run books, and knowledge base articles; prepare Standard Operating Procedures for frequently executed and on-call operations
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
- 12 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree plus 10 years of relevant experience
- An active Top Secret clearance with CI polygraph within the last seven (7) years
- Ability to support an on-call rotation
- Java, Spring Boot, or Python
- Microservice architectures
- CI/CD tools: AWS tooling, Maven, GitLab & GitOps, Kubernetes, Docker
- Database: NoSQL / MongoDB query and schema design
- OAuth/OIDC implementation experience
- Test frameworks and automation, to include Playwright and Cucumber
