Cloud Software Engineer III
Reflexive Concepts is seeking a skilled Cloud Software Engineer to join our team!
The Cloud Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse Big-Data Cloud systems based upon documented requirements. Contributes directly to all stages of back-end processing, analyzing, and indexing, and provides expertise in Cloud Computing and the Hadoop ecosystem including Java applications, Distributed Computing, Information Retrieval (IR), and Object-Oriented Design. Reviews and tests software components, resolves software problem reports, and provides input to system design including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and COTS/GOTS use.
Qualifications:
The Cloud Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse Big-Data Cloud systems based upon documented requirements. Contributes directly to all stages of back-end processing, analyzing, and indexing, and provides expertise in Cloud Computing and the Hadoop ecosystem including Java applications, Distributed Computing, Information Retrieval (IR), and Object-Oriented Design. Reviews and tests software components, resolves software problem reports, and provides input to system design including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and COTS/GOTS use.
Qualifications:
- Twelve (12) years of software engineering experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity; four (4) years of which must be in programs utilizing Big-Data cloud technologies and/or Distributed Computing
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university (four (4) years of cloud software engineering experience may be substituted; a Master's may substitute two (2) years; Cloudera Certified Hadoop Developer may substitute one (1) year of Cloud experience)
Required Skills:
- Front-End: JavaScript (and some TypeScript), React/JSX
- Back-End: Node.js/JavaScript, Rust (for high-performance or secure portions), Python, shell scripting
- Microservices architecture: Kubernetes, Helm charts, service mesh, multi-site applications, load-balancing topologies, cloud migration
- Tech stack: NiFi, testing frameworks (Jest), Grafana, InfluxDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, MySQL, Apache Superset, RabbitMQ/Kafka/message fabrics, Ansible/Salt, Terraform, Web-Sockets, Neo4j, JBLOCKS, CASPORT
- Familiarity with agency security labels (CAMKEY, LAC, COI, etc.)
- Cloud/Distributed Computing: Information Retrieval, Cloud Big Table, Cloud Distributed File System, MapReduce analytics, Cloud Distributed Coordination Frameworks; Java/J2EE, MAVEN, RESTful web services; UNIX/Linux, CentOS
Desired Skills:
- Provide in-depth Information Retrieval expertise; design, develop, and test Cloud IR
- Serve as a subject-matter expert for Cloud Computing and Hadoop; architect solutions to complex cloud engineering problems
- Oversee software development tasks and recommend new technologies and process standards
Clearance:
- TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph
