System Administrator II

Reflexive Concepts is seeking a System Administrator II to join our team! 

This position provides System Administration support for development and production environments of a mission-critical Identity and Access Management (IdAM) system. Responsibilities include collaborating with a team on the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of both virtual machines and containerized environments, with a strong focus on managing and orchestrating container workloads using Kubernetes.

The role also involves loading Operating Systems and software, performing security hardening, and applying OS and software application patching (e.g., IAVA, Version updates). A critical component of this role is developing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions using tools like Ansible for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.

The individual will be responsible for monitoring system status, performance, and health across traditional and containerized platforms, and providing direct support to ISSO (Information System Security Officer) and resolving critical system issues. This position requires applying in-depth knowledge of computer operations, platforms, systems, architectures, functions, and terminology to optimize environment performance and reliability, and independently reading, writing, and implementing standard operating procedures and technical documentation for all supported systems.

Requirements:
  • 10+ years of System Administrator experience
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
    • 4 years of additional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree for a total of 14 years.
  • DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level I or higher is required
  • Demonstrated experience and hands-on expertise with Container Technologies, specifically Kubernetes orchestration and Docker.
    • Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deployment, management, and troubleshooting of containerized applications.
    • Proven proficiency with Docker for containerization and image management.
  • Strong experience with configuration and automation tools, particularly Ansible for infrastructure management and deployment.
    • Expertise in Ansible playbook development and execution for automated configuration and deployment.
  • Experience with:
    • Configuration and Maintenance of Virtual Machines
    • Linux and Windows operating systems
    • Scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Perl, Python for automation)
    • OS and Software application patching (e.g. IAVA, Version updates)
    • Knowledge or skill relevant to computer operations
    • Attention to detail and time management.
    • Excellent communications skills
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with:
    • IdAM directories (active directory and/or LDAP)
    • Ticket tracking tools (e.g. Jira, Redmine, RT Tracker)
    • Familiarity with Ansible and Mongo
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to multi-task and work independently and with a team.
